Our Products and Applications
Celmet™, which will be exhibited at the Hannover Messe, is a porous material with a three-dimensional structural framework. It is more flexible (elastic) than porous materials made from sintered metal powder or metal fibers, has a high porosity of up to 98% and eight types of pore diameters between 0.45mm and 3.2mm, and can be processed into various shapes by cutting and pressing. These features can be utilized to improve the filling, retention and current collection properties of active materials in battery applications and are therefore often used as current collectors in nickel-metal hydride batteries for hybrid vehicles.
In addition to nickel, the line-up includes alloys Ni-Cr and Ni-Sn, which can be used in a wide range of fields, including fuel cell collector applications and various filter materials.
In the future hydrogen society, Celmet™ is expected to be applied to a wide range of applications and functions in new fields, such as electrode materials for water electrolysis equipment and fuel cells.
